EVERYONE can get promotional pricing EVERY year FOREVER!!!

I emailed Comcast and asked them if once my promotional pricing is up, if I could extend it with a 2 year agreement. Well, they called me back and said once your promotional pricing is up, if you go ONLY 3 months with regular pricing, you can the get promotional pricing again! If you're currently not getting promo pricing and it's been more than 3 months since it expired, just call Comcast and request it. So, get 1 year of promo pricing and 3 months of regular pricing and you can do it every year! TOO sweet!

Well, I see on their site, you can get it for 2 years with an agreement. Is that what you have?

Its has always been 90 days between promos. Its usually up to the discretion of the rep but they are held to certain policies.

And while they do NOT want you to be on a promotion- In this economy, Some dollars are always better then no dollars.

Sure, but what about those 2 yr deals? Wouldn't they want to lock you in so you couldn't easily switch providers without huge penalties and thus guaranteeing them money for a few years?

It used to be only new customers could get promotions and to qualify as one, you had to go so many months as a NON-customer.

Ya, they probably are doing this now to keep customers from switching to DSL or FIOS when promo pricing runs out.

there is a little more to the guidelines than that. but yea its been that way for around 2 years now. main factor is that you pay your bill and pay it on time. if your late on your bill or have been late in the last year dont bother calling.

So, has anyone called Comcast to take advantage of this?

I had WOW this last year, but until then I got renewals on promotional pricing with CC all the time.

Just a gentle call asking if Comcast could work with me on pricing so that they would beat WOW, since WOW had some features that CC did not. I nevery directly said it, but the implication was there that I would switch to WOW.

CC always seemed very happy to accomodate and gave me pricing that met or beat WOW and then threw in a freebie or additional discount.

At least a year ago, promotions said they were for new customers only and to qualify as a new customer, you had to be a NON-customer for at least 90 days. I know because I specifically read it in their fine print.

retention will tend to be able to bend rules too, the reps get paid for "saving" customers.
