I would hardly call cable and telco companies the pinnacle of ethics, morals, or customer service...
Sort of like many of their customers.

I'm not quite sure what you're pointing to here... Customers are obviously not so unethical that these companies can't survive. Perhaps if you could provide some examples I could understand a little better.

It took Abraham Lincoln to free the slaves. And it's taking Barack Obama to enslave the free.
The Obama Administration: as transparent as my grandmother's flannel nightgown.

It is just that companies treat their customers poorly when they have to spend a lot of money to stop those customers from ripping them off. Cable, Telco, & satellite have all had to put extensive fraud prevention features in their services to stop theft. It just makes it hard for companies to take the high road when they know who they are dealing with. And at the same time, the honest customers then don't trust the companies because the companies don't trust them.

Are you implying that using a network connection, that you are paying for, as advertised, is theft in some way????

No. Just that those 3 type of providers all have a history with customers. Cable & satellite with people stealing TV service and premium channels thru hacked boxes. Telco with rampant theft of voice services over the years thru various devices. There is a MUTUAL poisoning of the well so to speak between the parties involved.

Wow. Just, wow. So when companies treat their customers poorly it's the user's fault? That's a stretch, even for you.

OK, that point I understand and agree with.
Sorry for my confusion.
But you do have to admit that too many ISPs look at their high usage users as stealing from them, which in no way should they be allowed to call them thieves....
