| What kind of splitter and coax do I need?
I have an existing coax wall mount presently serving only the STB. I'd like to use this coax for ethernet as well with a coax-to-ethernet adapter. Therefore, I would need a splitter and two short runs of coax - one to the STB and one to the adapter.
What sort of splitter and coax would I need for this job? Is Radio Shack a good source? |

| Radio shack will bone you on this. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and you can find the stuff you need there.
My recommendation: RG6 cable, the type that you screw in, not that slides on. You get a much better connection.
For the splitter, be sure you get one that says (I hope I get this right) 5Mhz - 1000Mhz. Ones that don't go this high will clobber digital signals. --Wait for someone else to confirm this before going to buy anything.
All told, you're looking at about $10 to $15 in parts. Radio Shack would probably whack you with $20 just for the splitter. |

MOCA signals can be above 1Ghz, but MOCA is quite tolerant of splitters rated to 1Ghz. |
