CuriousGuy posted : • If You Don't live in New York City, this post won't be relevant to you.
  :)

I posted the following in this forum on 3/17/09: I live in Queens and use my.earthlink.net as my home page . Usually, the page contains video and text content sent to Earthlink server by NY1 News , the web site for channel one on TW Cable in the five boroughs. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, this stuff disappeared from my start page. I'm wondering if anyone else in the city has experienced this. Please let me know. I realize that not everyone uses Earthlink's home page, but, if you do, gimme a shout. Thanks!

I didn't know what was wrong, but it was fixed. (The very next day.) . I had contacted Earthlink corporate in Atlanta because trying to get someone abroad to understand a five borough issue is harder than getting a hotel room in Jakarta.
************************************************************************************************

Current Posting: Doncha love sequels? On June23, I noticed that the news from NY1 wasn't being refreshed, and

then it was, and then it disappeared along with the TW Cable logo on top of the page that is usually adjacent to

Earthlink's home page logo. I don't want to blow something like this out of proportion, but one would hope that

it's not an insoluble problem. The feedback from Earthlink initially was that I was the only user affected. My, my, I

must be special, hey?

Just to cover all bases, I spoke to NY1 News' webmaster and, while he is a very friendly and

cooperative guy, he hasn't been able to get his footprint on Earthlink's knickers, either. Haha, kinda liked that! :)

I guess the bottom line for me is, (bearing in mind that I joined Earthlink in March, 2000 as a dial-up user and

progressed to DSL ....PPPoE, ugh, finally ending up with Earthlink TW Cable when it became available), why don't

I just make the narrow leap to Road Runner.

The sole negative in that context is that I prefer to keep my e-mail address.

If you happen to read this without dozing off, and think that I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, you may be

right, I may be crazy. (Wonder if I have to pay ASCAP for that...shhhh). However, this does not strike me as

rocket science, which reminds me: are we ever gonna launch a shuttle where the freakin' foam from the external

fuel tank doesn't damage the tiles?

cc: Rolla Huff, Earthlink CEO
not really

(wonder what he's in a huff about? shrinking
customer base)

P.S. Who said: "Get a life, dude"? Ciao, homies Beep! Beep!
