A Very Sad Reminder

A couple of weeks ago we were vacationing on Sanibel Island, FL and, one morning, the power went out for about 45 minutes. No big deal, we figured island power is likely iffy anyway.

It turns out that the cause was a professional tree trimmer was electrocuted while trimming branches ABOVE a power line. The limb he cut fell onto an energized line and that carried power back to the tree, killing him.

I feel sorry for grousing about the small inconvenience of no power for a bit of time. Quite a serious lesson about being careful around power lines and to leave the tree trimming near them to the PoCo.

wasnt very professional i guess..

if he was messin with overhead lines, he should have had a boom attached to that branch to completely limit its movement. can't assume anything... too late now..

i`ll say a prayer

The guy in this bucket was very lucky. Not so much the homeowners who owned the houses that caught fire.
