Re: A Comparison of Internet providers

Speaking of providers... anyone notice the tech support# for »www.montreal-dsl.com/ is the same as TSI?

Of course, Montreal Dsl is only a reseller or TekSavvy. Nothing More!

It's always been a joke that they are even on Canadian ISP listed as a provider. All Teksavvy resellers should actually be banned from Canadian ISP if they don't conduct their own billing. Most Teksavvy resellers actually have a generic signup page (like Montreal Dsl does), and customers get billed by TSI Internet on their statements.

This doesn't constitute an seperate/independent ISP

Let the games begin !!

Unlike Bell's contention that Teksavvy is just a reseller of Sympatico.

@techentrance.com

Well if an ISP buys service wholesale and sells it to the general public via a separate retail channel, with it's own billing system and customer service, then I would consider it an bonafide ISP.

Now if a company just uses a white label product as their front, and collects a tiny monthly commission from the actual provider, then I would consider them a NON-ISP.

Would not you ??

We no longer do their tech support. We still do some minimal stuff but it isn't us on the phone anymore.
