Update on when we can expect it? Thanks

It has been quite around here last year there posts almost daily about nodes being flipped.

I have until October before I can switch from DTV but there is no way I can switch as I was at someones house in Putnam and the number of HD stations was about ten. I only watch HD and DTV has tons of it.

I have seen an increase in the amount of Metrocast trucks running around Putnam lately. Maybe they are working on the upgrades, or maybe a big issue.

Some of the guys that posted regularly here are in the northern system so I would assume they are fairly busy as of late.

Probably within the next 6 months. Construction is starting soon in Plainfield and expanding out quickly from there. If we get some good weather everyone could be upgraded by the end of the year.

Darn those Plainfield people!
Looks like Putnam will be the last of the Mohegans to be brough into the new system.

Just to let everyone know on the observations I have seen. I work in the Plainfield area and my daily lunch travel brings me down the rt 12 area. I see diffrent contractor crews and what seems to be a great deal of wire being pulled. Always with cops though. Wonder what the extra cost is on that. Seems those rent a cop security people may be a better price. But overall from the outsider looking it would seems things are moving along ok.

I was shocked when I saw those speeds my self. I was one of the few people in the district using a computer so I had all the bandwidth to my self.

Thank you State of CT for the fat pipes to the schools.

There will be a mass mailing going out soon with all the details. We're about a month away from the first flips in the Plainfield area.

Hi guys just a question we are moving to the sterling area it seems metrocast is our only option for cable internet? Is it as bad as some of the forums are saying and if so whats our options? I'm a Hardcore gamer and I'm leaving Cox cable behind am i doomed?! lol

Good news Newbie the CT leg of the system seams to fair the best. I have used them since they where called @Home back in 2000 so 9 years. I also have the option of ATT and Charter and stay with Metrocast.

BTW I was on vacation did I hear some letter went out I did not get one anyone get one in Putnam?

The letters have only gone out to Plainfield residents so far since it's the first town to be upgraded. The plan/goal is to have everything upgraded by the end of the year or shortly there after so the flipping process will go much quicker. Phone should be available shortly after the flips along with VOD. For HSD we're totally replacing the equipment currently servicing the northern system with more room for expansion.

I live in Moosup, CT and the past 2 weeks my internet service has been UNACCEPTABLE.

Getting upload speeds of 0.3m/sec, download speeds of 1 meg/second. Disconnected at least every 30 minutes, sometimes just a short blip and sometimes for several minutes.
