About EVDO...

Hi, I live out of town about 4 miles. Where I live I cannot get DSL, and from what I've found about Satellite internet, it's not worth the money to get. I just recently found out about EVDO from here:

I'd like to know more about it. Right now I am using ATT as my cell provider, and the nearest phone mast is in town and I can actually see the lights from the mast at my house. Usually I have at least 3-4 bars on my cell phone and I live on top of a hill. I live in northeastern Missouri.

So my questions are, what equipment do I need to get an EVDO connection set up? What kind of plans are there, such as monthly contracts? And how reliable is the connection, data limitations, ect, as after 3 and 1/2 years of dial up, I would like to get into online gaming, if possible.

Thanks for any information!

I also did some browsing and when I looked my address up on the Sprints website, apparently my address is just a few pixels out of the coverage area... And Verizon says "We currently do not have service for zip code #####", but when I use the map my address appears under the "Extended Enhanced Services". Whatever that means...

EVDO is either with sprint or verizon.
ATT uses Edge (slower) and HSDPA (faster).
