| My Story Walked into the Comcast store. Asked whether they had any for-rent modems that were either SurfBoards or that adhered to the new DOCSIS 3.0 standard. There weren't. After that, I hinted at the bad economy, saving money, etc. and asked whether any promotions were available for my account.
My $64.95-a-month 8/2 internet package is now $41.95 for the next six months. If I can pay $51.95 for Ultra when it comes out I'll do it 
Otherwise I'll be downgrading to 12/2 when DOCSIS 3.0 rolls out in my area. Qwest is a joke so can only threaten downgrading on Comcast, not cancelling. I've been a decent customer, paying bills on-time etc. so it appears as though they don't want to lose me.
I sorta envy a new-customer friend however. Cable for $19.99 a month, internet for $19.99 a month. Then again, he's on the 6M package but still, nice pricing. |
