Re: Quit your crying... As also a tech support rep for a ISP, i quite agree with the first Techie. These caps are for people that hog the network. Now you said to find the people and do something about. ya they can do that but then there going to cry about it say why you capping me. This is for everyone to be treated fair. If your using more then 3GB a day on your network as a residential, then WTF are you doing??????. no dam reason to be using that much unless your doing a back up. Even I, as a heavey gamer, raiding alot in WOW, and a computer geru, check my bandwith with my company, might use between 1.8-2.5 gb aday on very heavy raid night with WoW. Even if you do hit the cap that day your slowed to half your speeds. which for them would be 2.5 which still still kinda quick, in a way. Now that cap is between noon and midnight after midnight you can do the heck what ever you like. | |
| lets see... mom uses VOIP to call friends. Sister watches youtube. I vnc back home during the day while i'm out and play games at night. 3+ GB a day easily. No way you can call yourself a computer guru and not break 3GB when you download for example Windows 7 beta builds or some other ISOs.
This is all pretty typical of residential usage, and they break 3GB easily (granted, not break 3GB every day)
Good thing I have qwest dsl and avoid cableone like the plague. All my other colleagues that were on cableone have seen how bad cableone is regarding internet service and switched also. | |
