| I Want U-verse But...
I was thinking about getting U-verse, but I would like to be able to pause live TV on 3 of the TVs in my house. Currently I have a Dish DVR feeding them, one TV is in my family room, where the DVR is, and the other two are in my master bedroom and living room, fed through coax. Both the master bedroom and living room use Dish UHF remotes. With U-verse I was thinking I could just have the DVR set up in the family room, and then split its RF output to the other two rooms, like I have it now with Dish. However, U-verse uses IR remotes, so I would would not be able to control anything from the other two rooms. So, what so you think I should do to have the remotes work? Buy a IR to RF remote adapter, or get STBs for the other rooms and wait for phase III? |

| Will all 3 TV sets be on at the same time? If you had a singe AT&T U-verse DVR feeding 3 TV sets, all sets would be on the same channel. I would go with getting STB's for the other 2 sets so that each set can be tuned to a different channel.
Since programs can be recorded from each set connected to U-verse, the work around that I do to be able to pause live TV is simply: 1) start recording the show; 2) wait a few minutes and start watching the show; 3) delete the recording once I am done. Since the show is recording, I can pause, rewind, and fast forward. It has the added benefit of allowing me to skip through the commercials so it takes less time to watch the program.
Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long for Phase 3. |

@pacbell.net | Thanks for the reply,
I don't really care if the channel is the same on all the sets, its that way now with Dish. I just don't want to pay an extra $14 a month. |
