There's no way in hell I would own an iPhone. I got a blackberry curve 8310 in December. This thing can still do more than that portable app store called the iPhone. You can keep it. The touch screen sucks anyway. Long live the QWERTY keyboard!
In my area I am perfectly happy with EDGE. It gets the job done for what I need it to do. So no. It's not a bummer at all. I almost threw my friends iPhone out of his car window when I tried typing on the thing.
