Troy, MI...Wow Internet Trouble

I live in Tory, MI at the Regent Park apartment complex so I am forced to use WoW. Here are the problems.

Look at my speed in the morning.

Another issue is that I will lose signal for 15 min to 2 hour ever day at random times (I can see the model light for Cable start blinking yellow) , some time if I do a power rest things work.

I don't know its my cable mode. I has model (D-Link DCM-202 for about 3 years with me...but i have been in MI and on WOW only for about 1 month)

Any advice ? any one else who lives in the same apartment complex having issues ?

stop paying them until they get this resolved. your internet connection is guaranteed by WOW. call them and make them remove all internet cost until it's resolved. because i had the same problem using WOW i had to call them & do this all the time, until i switched to COMCAST. cost a little bit more but it works.
u can also have the apartment manager call and complain. WOW may be more inclined to fix it since he represents more customers (not just you)
also knock on your neighbors doors & ask them if they have same prob. if yes, ask them to sing a petition requesting management change providers.
hope this is helpful!!!

To the OP, whatever you do, do not listen to this. This is the dumbest idea and a surefire way to get your services shut off.

your internet connection is guaranteed by WOW.
No it isn't. You should go and real up on WOW's and even Comcast's terms of service and you'll see they make no such guarantee.

It doesn't work like that.

Have you had WOW send a tech out? Also, try out their modem. WOW doesn't support any other modem than what they provide. And seeing as WOW doesn't provide D-Link modems, that more than likely is the issue.

Just to give you guys an update. I went and bought a new Cisco modem....will see what happens.

The biggest issue in the past was connection dropping and extreme buffering plus slow speed during mornings and evenings.

I cant get Comcast as the apartment does not allow it, i think they got a deal with WOW and WOW does some kick backs.

After installing the Cisco modem the issue with connection dropping has stopped (well nothing in the past 24 hours) but the issue of video buffering is still their.

I got the top tier package (15/2), Speed Test shows very good speeds (this is Wow speed test)..how ever try watching some thing on Hulu / You Tube / Net Flixx and its buffering mayhem.

Not to sounds like a smart@ss, but is there a reason you just don't rent a modem from WOW? I don't know what you paid for your 1st modem, or 2nd, but I'm sure that sum of money would pay for many months/years of renting @ $3/month. Plus, since it's WOW's modem, any and all problems are theirs to fix.... no pointing at your personally owned modem as the problem, whether it is or not. Not to mention that updated config files will be pushed to rented modems much sooner, if ever, to 3rd party equipment.

Don't blame WOW for your poor modem problems.

i recently drop ed WOW because they were unable to provide me with the guaranteed speeds. because they are no longer my isp don't pay them anymore. they did stop all my services but it was at my request.

item 2 & 3
i informed WOW that they would have to reduce my bill for the last month because they were unable to meet the guaranteed min internet speed. WOW didn't even hesitate, instead they reduced my bill without question.

in my case it was easy to prove since i had called for WOW for service but they had been unable to resolve the issue.

you seem to enjoy talking about things that you know nothing about. next time try getting your facts straight before you go shooting your mouth off.

Again, WOW, nor any other residential ISP, ever guarantee internet speeds. They are always up to. Period.

WOW didn't even hesitate, instead they reduced my bill without question.
And that's mighty nice of them.

I suggest you do the same. What I stated is fact, whether you want to believe it or not. That's not my problem.
