Depending on your cable co, the install may be free (that should include running the new line if necessary.) With some providers like Comcast, it's actually cheaper to get limited basic cable TV and internet than internet alone.

The question is how would the cabling work? I don't particularly want to run additional cabling just so I can have one cable modem hooked up but...

Any help/advice? Or should I just suck it up and hope FIOS eventually gets over here?
