Is anyone else having problems with SATMEX5 (1090)? I have been there for 5 years and since July 4th have had DNS problems, can't get to some secure sites (banks) and at time complete lose of signal, web accelerator etc. I have good signal, good cross poll, yet random problems. Some times speed is great and then it drops to nothing. |

| I was on SM5/1090 for years. It was pretty reliable until March of this year, when I began experiencing web acceleration/DNS problems. At first, Hughes tried to tell me it was a problem on my end. I told them I knew my system well enough to know it wasn't. Later, got an email from them admitting they were having problems at NOC, but that it should be fixed. It wasn't. On April 10th, I had Wifi installed and cancelled Hughes the same day. Looks like they're still having problems.
Long story short, I was able to get some relief from the web acceleration/DNS problems by disabling the turbo page. |

| reply to elhombre I also recall that part of the problem was that my TurboPage was constantly flipping through addresses, without settling on one for very long. Whenever it landed on a bad address, browsing took a dive. I ended up doing a FORCE RANGE, which in my case settled down the TurboPage. |

| reply to elhombre Yes. I'm on SM5 (970) and am having periodic DNS problems and total loss of signal once or twice per day. Signal level will drop from its normal 78 to 0 and then recover within 10 to 20 minutes. (It has been OK for the past 24 hours per the diagnostics screen; two drops on Thursday). Service had been very solid for months and then the DNS failures started in mid-June. Signal loss problems have only been for the past two weeks or so. |
