SIM cards

I honestly don't see the big deal about them. I've had GSM service from AT&T on my own account with a SIM card and I've never really had to swap the SIM card to another device.

Also I've had problems where the contacts of the SIM got dirty and caused problems.

My guess the markets that already have multiple options for broadband. It would be nice if they actually launched this in places without anything other than Evdo, Satellite or dial up access. That won't happen and I probably won't see LTE till 2013-2014.

The 30 markets will most likely be markets in which Verizon has launched Fios. It would be too cost prohibitive to build out someone elses network to launch gigE service.
