| cityplace VNC
Hello all,
I have been going crazy trying to setup a vnc connection to my computer at home. i live in one of the telus cityplace buildings with a 100mbit connection. I have always used VNC and the only thing that is stopping it from working this time is that i cant find an open port!
are there no open ports on telus 100 mbit connection? regardless of that, can i still use vnc? my router settings are fine, im sure of it.
on a side note, when downloading torrents, should it show connectable (green)?? i can only seem to get the yellow status.
thanks for the help in advance!
regards, homamkeh |

| Im not too familiar with city place. Do they give you a public ip, or a private ip (like a 10.xxx or 192.xxx). Are you using a router when doing this or are you plugged straight into the ethernet jack in the wall? If you want, take the router out of the equation. My main question is how does city place hand out ips? //JJ |

| reply to homamkeh I am a network technicain and I would not use VNC I would look into using logmein.com
it is free and very user friendly. You do not need to make hole in the router and you can access it without the need for a client on the client side of the connection.
