RG 4 Port Situation

I had uverse installed two months ago or so. Here's my current setup..

HPNA from RG
- STB
- STB

802.11g from RG
- PC
- Laptop

Ethernet from RG
- DVR
- Xbox 360
- PC
- Laptop (used for wired transfers, 54mbps wi-fi doesn't handle it right)

I plan on adding a PS3 or a Blue-ray player, of which I would prefer hard wired instead of wireless.

Simple question is, what do I need to add to make this possible.

If you're just trying to add more ports, get a switch.

Try to keep STBs on HPNA or directly connected to the U-verse RG. They can also go through a switch, but all TV traffic will get broadcast on all ports, which can be a problem for some things (most notably, wifi access points).

Well, crap. With two STB's on HPNA and one on CAT5, those are considered different networks, right?

So no matter what with the DVR over CAT5 straight to the RG, network coming from wifi to a switch with my wired PC's gets in between the IPTV traffic?

No thats fine. STBs connected directly to the RG or HPNA are fine, the RG keeps them separated from the computer network as needed. I'm saying if you add a new switch you want to try keeping the STBs connected directly to the RG, and use the switch for everything else.

For the most part as long as you're not trying to add another wireless access point, you don't have to worry about it. Just add the switch and connect as needed.

I was later on considering adding a wireless n wap. Is this possible? I don't wanna spend the money on a wireless router that is simultaneous band (2.4GHz and 5GHz), but if need be I will.
