How many times does it have to be explained before you understand why wireless exclusivity is anti-competitive and a source of scrutiny from the FCC?

Phones and carriers are supposed to be separate to give consumers as much choice as possible. Carriers should compete on network service and price, phone manufacturers should compete on phone quality and price, and consumers should benefit from it all.

Yes, you don't *have* to buy anything. This is also true in China, where the communist government doesn't force a poor rural farmer to buy the latest phone with his life savings.
