SMC EZ1016DT Workgroup Switch Problem

mpovit posted : I am hooking up my Netopia 3347-002 ADSL Modem /Router to an SMC EZ1016DT 16 port switch. When I hook one of the LAN Ports of the modem/router to port one on the switch the LAN light on the modem blinks real fast as if their is some data activity going on. It will keep doing this. If I move to port two on the switch the LAN light on the Modem/Router behaves normally. As with switches you don't have to use a crossover cable when you are connecting these two like devices. The switch makes the necessary adjustments internally so you could use a straight through cable. Is their anything special about port one?

Thanks,

Marc
