gotta be BIG...to fail

The problem is Sprint isn't big enough for regulators to care if the company fails and has to file for bankruptcy... so Sprint thinks they can acquire more assets to become that entity which is TOO BIG TO FAIL (without corporate welfare assistance).

The main difference is that an ordinary schmo navigating Department of Social Services will get stuck in any one of a million catch-22's when they become unemployed, but made too much money for the year to qualify for anything other than food stamp assistance and a paltry amount as well (of which in over 80% of situations, you have to WORK for those benefits as well). A company on the other hand can do bad, over pay it's top employees, screw the ones at the bottom (think retirement benefits commitments, healthcare for life etc), commit fraud, and borderline fraud (misleading about earnings, for example)-- and not get caught at the illegal/immoral things.. then have a bunch of slick, high-paid laywers come crawling to the government for a check.

The Kicker, OBAMA hasn't done a damn thing about it either! In some cases, it's better to rebuild from the ground up, instead of catching a disintegrating corporation from the top down. Be it a bank, car company, telecom, whatever.

Not during a recession it isn't.

But I agree, it would have been nice to see the people responsible for their huge companies' failure to be punished accordingly. But I don't think any candidate would have done that.

·WOW Internet and..

Mr. President was going to go after AIG until he and the rest of the lawyers in DC found it was going to cost more money than what it was worth to sue them.

Instead the IRS was given the task to go after them the easy way, taxes. Why? They know how much they made, they know who the people are and can red flag them and make rules that fit just those people.

The IRS will get the people's money back. But if you want to go after GM I think you need to go back to before the last 10years. Maybe back in the 60s when they started the shit then.

Go search YouTube for the GM documentory.
