Ok, the next filler episode came out last night, and I gotta say, this could be a REALLY GOOD story. Hopefully, it's done well, because it has some potential.

AS is about 100 episodes behind the ones being shown now, so you got some ways to go. Filler, AND story.  |

I gave up on that a long time ago.
And I'm not just tired of the fillers, even during the regular shows they drag things on unnecessarily. I don't want that much drama in my animes.
Bleach turned into dragon ball z and i stopped watching dbz when i was 15.
I'll stick to straight to the point animes even if they end quickly. (eg: Eden of the east).

I can appreciate that - and even agree. The whole Arrancar arc has been going on forever, and the fights are ridiculously drawn out. My daughter has gotten frustrated with it like you. I can hang in there, since it's my Wed. morning watching show. Nothing else comes out on Tuesday I care to grab most times.
That said though, this "side story" DOES look good. It may be worth revisiting the series for a few weeks. |

This looks like it's going to be a really good filler arc. It felt like I was watching a new Bleach movie that's how much I enjoyed episode 230. The Arrancar story seems to be going nowhere because there are too many bad guys and the fights are too drawn out.

It's not so much that it's drawn out, it's that they keep interrupting it and so it feels longer and having to focus our attention back on the story again takes the edge off a potentially good story. There has to be tons of bad guys because they're in enemy territory and need to work through Espada numbers. I don't mind that so much.
I will say though, that there is one thing that is driving me totally nuts. Recently there have been a lot of comedy breaks in the story, which I do like a lot, BUT do they have to use that awful French style accordion circus music? I keep expecting a mime to pop up and starting doing air movements with his hands. I hate the bloody thing with a passion. Sometimes the accordion music kicks in before the funny parts, and so I know they'll try and be funny and that ruins it. It should be much more subtle in the background. Well that's my rant over.
Curious about why they never have Ichigo commune with his Zanpakuto? It's always a chat in a crunch. He seems to want to get stronger, so why isn't he talking to the thing that will help him?
It's about time that Ichi gets another sword technique, damn it! And it better be extremely cool. I do like the fact that his Bankai wasn't so earth shatteringly powerful, but rather a compressed form power. But we've waited long enough to see a new one now.

But the problem many people have, myself included, is that they draw out the fights so much, the whole thing could've been done by now. I don't mind long fights, that's cool, but when the majority of an episode is something like this:
Opening:
5-8 minute recap of previous episode
Closeup of hero's face...........
Closeup of Arrancar's face........
Closeup of hero's face............
Closeup of Arrancar's face.........
taunt by Arrancar, which is countered by hero
Closeup of hero's face............
Closeup of Arrancar's face.........
*fight scene* - usually one strike, defense per character.
Closeup of hero's face...........
Closeup of Arrancar's face.......
credits, we get pissed, and wait for next week.
Except prior to filler arcs......
Ichigo and Ulquiorra meet, charge at each other, and THEN we get the credits, and told "Filler time!" NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! |

I didn't think it was writer's greed more then the fact that the story caught up with magna and cartoon had to "fill" in some time until they get more material to convert over to the cartoon. I could very well be wrong but that was my understanding so please correct me if needed. |

Different writers have different ways of going about things. Could they shorten down a few fights...yes. Do they only do it for the money...i dont think so. I personally dont feel like the fights are that drawn out. yes some of them can be shorten but I dont feel like they are on the level of DBz yet. |

One of the problem is that these writers drag out the manga, take breaks, add bunch of character development that makes thing go even longer, blah blah.
So far, One Piece is the only series with a minimal amount of fillers and the manga stays ahead just enough. Fairy Tail will have a good head start with the manga.
Inuyasha was the worst of them all. Out of the 169 episodes that aired, I'd say about 75-80 episodes had some of the manga story in but I can't recall so well having been reading the manga for 10 years. DBZ and Gouko taking 4 episodes to go SSJ1 made me lol the first time.

This arc is really getting pretty good I must say, and I'm enjoying it more than the regular arc. This week was pretty sweet!
I think this is the first time we see Ichigo's "hollow form" truly taking over. Cero and all! I was surprised Zangetsu turned on him too
Though it begs the question:
Does this story happen AFTER the Arrancar arc, or just a "possible side" story? |

I love bleach and I still try to make myself watch it but i agree with most... they just drag things out way too long... The bount filler arc was just unnecessarily long and boring... And torwards the beginning of the series the flashbacks were just super annoying... more than half the episodes during the soul society arc were just boring and devastatingly long flashback... The fights can be good like ichigo vs kenpachi, or ichigo vs grimmjow.. but the time it takes to get to these fights are just annoying.. |

It has nothing to do with the Arrancar story line.
As an aside, I happen to enjoy this filler arc immensely. I think it's great. I couldn't stand the Bountu story arc, it was boring and just anti-climactic. The Soul Society story arc was boring as all hell regarding the Princess, and only really got good when they focused more on that new Captain and Vice-Captain. That's when it finally got good, but even that fight was anti-climactic. This Zanpaktou arc seems to be starting off right. I think episode 233 was the best I've seen in a long time by far.
