Not true, he DOES, he just doesn't know it's name, and can't communicate with it like the others can. Which would raise a very interesting question, as to what exactly would materialize from the sword......
Though after this week, Renji can get Zabimaru into it's shinkai (sp) form, even though the Zanpaktou is supposedly gone. Does this mean that Muramasa's power doesn't really draw them out, but seal them and create a doppleganger? Hmmmmm This arc may be finishing soon. |

| There's a lot about Renji and his sword that are not quite right.
For example: As you said, he can get his sword into it's shinkai form even though the Zanpakuto is gone. Well, it seems that he can do that only if the Zanpakuto lets him (as said by Zangetsu). So does that mean that Zabimaru is letting him?
Also Zabimaru (the Baboon "KING" as he states multiple times) is actually female? So does that make part of his soul female? Interesting though, is the end of one of the earlier episodes where Kurotsuchi Mayuri (scientist captain) offers to upgrade Renji's sword to the exact female shown.. and he said "yes". I usually take the endings as something of a joke and don't really happen, but perhaps they do.

| He did have a Zanpakuto. He just didn't know its name or ever communicated with it. He wasn't able to hear it yet because he hadn't yet formed a relationship with it. Much different from not having one at all.

Perhaps his Zanpakuto will work against him, or be such a pain the in arse once he can hear it because of all the years he ignored it lol There are so many ways to play this, and I hope they come up with something entertaining. This arc is the perfect opportunity to do it.
