The iPhone has already been hacked and the threat is already real. I'm quite certain it would be very illegal to crash the cell towers by using a DDoS or other "nefarious" mechanism. The only difference would be prosecuting someone for hacking their phone AND attacking the cell phone network.
If Apple's excuse has credibility, I would be more concerned with how fragile the tower software is rather than worrying over the legality of hacking your phone's OS. |
