DennyG : My North Attleboro installation report:

Installation was done on Wednesday. The installer worked from 9:30 to close to 5PM. Had a lot of outdoor wiring as I was the first in the Landry Ave area to subscribe, and he had to bring a line from across Landry to another pole on my property.

Inside wiring was simple. The ONT and backup battery/power boxes were installed in basement, and he connected lines to a splitter for tvs, to the existing phone line, and to the modem/router rather quickly in the basement. I immediately logged into the router to configure a new router name, password, SSID, WPA security, etc. and went to Speedtest.net to see a remarkable increase with 25/15 speeds, since I got the Extreme plan.

The only glitch we had was that my DVR box and the other set-top box would not activate from the DAC (Digital Activation Center.) All we could get was locals. Apparently they use a dedicated server to do the initial activations from a national center, and it was down that afternoon until 6AM the following morning. So there was nothing more that the installer could do from here, except to keep the install job officially "open" in his paperwork, and follow up with me by phone the next morning (which he did.) Fortunately around 6AM the boxes activated and I had all my programming packages.

Service has been 100% stable since then, and no problems. I am a happy camper with the service, and can't wait to go to the Attleboro Comcast office tomorrow with all my boxes and tell them farewell.

In NS/EP telecommunications services, "provisioning" equates to "initiation" and includes altering the state of an existing priority service or capability.[1]
In a modern signal infrastructure employing information technology at all levels, there is no distinction possible between telecommunications services and "higher level" infrastructure.
