fiber going into man hole on 47st and 4th ave today i'm also seeing regular verizon vans all over sunset either lots of people ordering dsl or they're doing recon work? lol |

I'm currently a Verizon High Speed customer, and from speaking to billing yesterday, she (the representative) said that Verizon isn't doing anymore DSL provisions, meaning that the will accept as many new DSL orders as possible, as supported by the DSLAM, after that that's it, meaning that they're not planning to expand their DSL service... |

Later this year we will have to move - kid needs a room - and I wonder if I could check FIOS availability prior to going to see a place... |

Brooklyn, NY | today on 49th street by 4th ave notice the metal pole with box on it first they drill your street and put pipes in or put this pole up then they put that box on the pole then they come back and run the fiber to the back yard  |

a lot permits on NYCDOT site from Verizon.
my question is in regards to poles, i see one across the street. do you know if they are going to run the wire across the street or they are going to put the pole on my block (sidewalk)? |

more work being done in sunset park and bay ridge area. digging up the streets, putting up metal poles and putting up fiber wires on backyard poles in back of homes. |

Any more information in regards to FiOS deployments in Brooklyn, specifically in Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Boro-Park, Brooklyn?
I know that they (Verizon) installed the black backbone cable for FiOS, back in late September, early October of last year... |

I've had FiOS in Sheepshead Bay for a little over a year now, and I love it. However, I have to move to Park Slope in a few weeks, and I'm worried about getting FiOS there. (8th Ave. and 16th St.)
The building I'm moving in to has the FiOS box installed on the outside of the house, but when I put the address into verizon.com, it says FiOS is not available.
Is this a problem with the website, or are they just pre-installing the boxes before they run the cable? |

| I'm on 15th b/t 8th and PPW and just had FIOS installed last weekend. It took about 4 weeks from when they installed the box on the exterior of the building to when I got the e-mail notification indicating availability. |
