You need to tap cable before tapping the button to be programmed. You don't need to tap the triangle button. Here's the complete process:
1) Select AUX 2) Hold SETUP 2 flashes 3) type 01376 2 flashes
1) Select AUX 2) Hold SETUP, 2 flashes 3) Type 994, 2 flashes 4) Tap SETUP 4) Enter the EFC 00173 5) Tap CABLE 6) Tap the button to be programmed, 2 flashes
After this is complete, go back and set AUX back to your usual auxiliary device code.
