It's implied that we're ethically bound to obey our country's laws; so our laws define our ethics.
I don't believe that our founding fathers intended to have Corporate Lawyers dictating what Right and Wrong would be for American Citizens. It's also an issue because it places corporations equal to God in influencing our ethos.
Is this a path we would have chosen for ourselves 200 years ago?

lots of the corporations tend to push for law extensions when it comes to copyright when one of their big items is up for public domain in a few years.(yes im mainly looking at a certain rodent with a park in florida....)
