I am really pumped for this. I loved KOTOR1 and KOTOR2, supposedly there is enough content in this game to makeup KOTOR3,4,5,6 and so on. I like the idea of the different approaches to MMO's that it has shown so far...

| reply to Gordo74 I too, am very interested. SWG was a GREAT MMO until they fucked it up.
If done right it could be the most successful MMO ever, even beat WoW. Problem is I'm an EVE player and I like the smaller aspect of the game. WoW has millions of players, and millions of idiots and morons as well to ruin the game. Plus after trying AoC (I thought it was a big epic fail) I'd miss the one big sandbox, though it can still be interesting...
What I hate is that its scheduled for 2010 and all the interviews and Q&A I read, they reveal NOTHING. Always the same canned responses, no real information on any mecanics...
So for all I care, it could stand to be a huge epic fail too, doing nothing new, and exploiting the Star Wars franchise... |

That trailer puts ALL of the Star Wars movies to shame. But I'm not going to pay to play this game. (another WoW) |

| reply to ztmike I disagree the game will be another WoW. It's not going to have generic kill 10 rat quests like every other MMO on the market. There will quests/missions that rival that of a single-player game. -- THIS IS SPENCER. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - I HAVE JOE. RETURNING TO BASE. |

It's a nice idea, but the follow-through will probably be as weak as most competitors. -- Obamanomics: Trickle-up poverty. |

| I was going to say "I'm not sure about that" then I realized it's important to take Bioware for itself and not tie it to shops who've used their engines.

| reply to Gordo74 This has the potential to be a huge hit long term. Short term it will make a killing, cmon its Star Wars Old Republic timeline. However their ability to retain subs is TBD..SWG and this game will are not related in any way so the farce that SWG turned into shouldnt affect this games potential. Dont plan on this anytime soon BTW, its a good 1.5-2 years away |

| I think that it will likely come out late 2010. And while it will have some aspects of WOW don't expect it to be a clone. The graphic will be WOW like as the more realistic graphics tend to slow down performance unless you have a highend machine and Bioware has said that they are not gonna just go for the highend. Expect npcs to play a large part of game play. (You're Han Solo and Chewie is a npc that helps you with quest missions or whatever.) Also I think that this game will have an evolving story line. The new player experience will likely remain the same but game play for two players that reach max level 2 or 3 months apart will likely be different as the story will effect game play. Of course all that I have heard could just be a load of crap and Bioware could give us SWG II with game play just like the week after SOE released the NGE. |

We see -combat system -bit of the cover system -3 classes -cover system
This is a SWG, only better. I very highly doubt this game will revolutionize anything. I found commentaries funny: tried to make the game look better than it actually seems to be.
I was hoping for combat to be real-time (like Darkfall) but this was wishful thinking. Since you actually need skill for real time combat, and they want to appeal to a younger crowd to, I didn't really expect it to be. Just button pressing and waiting for them to be executed.
Character animations look nice, so do the graphics. I'm a little sad they went with "subjective realism", I understand the reason behind it, to allow older systems to play it, but there could have been a compromise between this and Crysis graphics...
Voice acting looks very solid, as with all Bioware games!
All-in-all I am looking forward more, but lots about it has been vaporware... all interviews so far revealed nothing, they kept repeating the same things worded differently. This is the first time we see actual gameplay.
I'm not thoroughly impressed, but it looks promising. |

| reply to Gordo74 I was thoroughly impressed with the gameplay trailer that was just released. Showed some footage of a sith warrior and a few other classes. It is definitely not another WoW...sigh I wish people would stop comparing WoW with other games that are different. |
