Oh no! He truly was an awesome guy, for sure. He always said that nobody would really want to meet him in real life, but I'm sure many of us would beg to differ. He was also quite often the comedy relief for certain threads, and just an overall character of delight. He will surely be missed by myself and certainly countless others.

RIP old friend!

He said that to me as well and I tried to convince him otherwise. I know there was a heart of gold under that gruff exterior and I wish he could see the response this thread and others in other forums are getting. He was much loved around here.

I just cannot believe this... David was one of my best friends on DSLR. He was always a wealth of information when it came to anything software and HD video, and his humor always made me feel better on those days when I was down.
DSLR will never be the same without him. Rest in peace, my friend... You'll be missed... a lot!

I would just title it "The Software Forum Has Lost a Good Friend" and forget the whole "Sorry Mods" thing.

I'm still in shock and would like to extend my condolences to David's family.

Oh my God.
This is the very first thing I read this morning and I am absolutely and totally shocked and saddened by this news.

David will be missed so much around here.
I honestly don't know what to say.

Like some others have mentioned, David was one of my best friends around here. I have several pages of IM's we always sent to each other.

I just still can't believe it.

Rest in peace David.
My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I agree that a more appropriate title is in order.
I sure wasn't expecting to read what I did when I clicked on the thread.

This whole thing is pretty hard to take....I'm still sitting here in a daze.

Probably like most of you, I think I read every one of his posts when I saw them because I knew I was getting great info from someone who genuinely enjoyed being helpful.

Can't help but believe he feels the love we had for him, even though few of us ever met him.

RIP, dadkins.
