As for so many, many others David was a real good and warm friend to me. A friend and buddy you could always count on. A friend who was always there when you had a question. I remember so many times when I had a question about an update, he said "give me a sec"; and in a few seconds you got a reply from him. He was always so very kind with his thumbs-up and his Thank You messages. He always encouraged you. He loved to see pictures when you travelled.

DSLR will never be the same without Dadkins.
May we continue in his spirit.

We all lost a great friend.
But most of all his family lost David.
May I express my most deepest and sincerest sympathies to his family.
May they find some comfort in these difficult times by knowing how many friends he has.

Thank You David

May you Rest In Peace

David was, well David was a character... My kind (and apparently all of yours as well) of Character!

I'll miss him and his sense of humor, his willingness to help, his ability to find the best in everything.

I'll repeat my first thought when I learned this..

Damn, damn, damn!!!

Very sad news. I remember noting years ago that Dadkins was running an enormous amount of all kinds of software on his systems and always experimenting with new programs, and most often he seemed to have the answers when people were asking questions in the software forum. I always got the image that he was young and in good health. But isn't that the way things are in the world: the young pass and the old somehow linger. Perhaps nothing else would be tragic enough. My condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad to hear. Dadkins constantly cracked me up with his comments. He used to have the same avatar for years, the day he changed it I had to take a double look at his post.

Our sincerest condolences to Dadkins' family and many friends, especially here at BBR.

I always appreciated Dadkins' posts in the software forum, and often decided to use software based on his recommendations after he tried it out on his own laptop. He was willing to put it on the line for us, and for that I say "Thank you!"

As the posts in this thread indicate, Dadkins will be missed.

Peace . . .

Just so you all know i spoke to his mom not to long ago and she confirmed it was a heart attack late Saturday night. She couldn't hear me and had to turn up her hearing aide and then told me it was a heart attack.

I never met the man in person, yet I have tears in my eyes as I am typing this. I am so, so very sorry to hear that he passed away. He was one of the people whose answers I always knew I could trust, and who went out of his way to help me at times. Not to see a post again from "dadkins" is going to be so very strange.

God bless and keep him. My sincerest sympathies to his family.

Unfortunately this is the last thing Dadkins can teach us all. Please let this be a reminder to get your cholesterol and blood pressure checked, eat healthier, and carry asprin with you if your more prone to heart disease.

Oh Daddy-0

You will be sorely missed.
There was not a time I recall him not being there for anyone.

Ever helpful, always going the extra mile...
We lost a good member, and a great friend

Devastating news, I cannot express how sad I feel at the loss
My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I give you this one thought to keep -
I am with you still - I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of
quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still - in each new dawn.

Rest in peace, David. We won't forget you.
