 | How do you get a 310% speed mount Hi, i've been playing for years and have 6 lvl 80's but never thought about getting a faster mount than the regular epic. I can't look it up because i'm in Iraq atm so was wondering if anyone knows the easiest way to get one.
Are they achievable by casuals like myself or do you need to play the game 24/7?
P.S. I'm not new to this at all but feel stupid for never even thinking about getting oune before. |

Dunm join:2008-11-19 Northfield, OH | There are a few ways. First, they are the top-end reward for each arena season (probably not attainable from Iraq, the lag will probably spoil any arena you do).
Second, there are a few that drop from raid bosses. They are extremely rare drops, such as the Ashes of A'lar off of Kael'Thas in Tempest Keep. I believe the blue drakes that drop off of Malygos are 310% as well, though I am not 100% sure.
Third, getting the hardcore raid achievements will award you one. I believe that the rusted proto-drakes for completing all of the achievements in Ulduar are 310%, again don't quote me on that I may be wrong.
Finally, the most "casual" way to get a 310% mount would be the meta-achievement of completing all of the holiday events. If you earn every title from the holiday events, you will get a violet proto-drake that will supposedly be 310% speed (not confirmed yet as no one has completed every holiday event yet, since it has been less than a year). Of course, if you haven't started, this will take at least a year to complete since the holiday events are limited duration and only happen at specific times. |

 | Thanks a lot man. I guess i'll do the holiday thing due to the fact that by the time I get the Ulduar achiev it will probably be hotfixxed out. I also had no idea Ashes of Al'ar was 310%
Thanks again |

Hopefully we'll get both these this next week. We'll be banging our heads against Firefighter again tonight. |

After flying around on my DK at 300% flight speed, and then getting on my Warlock at 280%. It seems so slow =( |
|
 | reply to Haberjinx Is the straight epic flyer you get from the vendor 280 or 300? |

rayban join:2009-03-13 Freehold, NJ | reply to Haberjinx Actually, the "easiest" way to get a 310% speed protodrake is to buy a Mysterious Egg (»www.wowhead.com/?item=39878) every week from the Oracles tribe in Sholazar Basin. There's a 4% chance the egg will hatch as a green protodrake. You just need to get Revered faction with the Oracles to get the egg. |

FP's go as fast as 480% and avg at around 360%
Again - Carbonite's calc's are based solely on linear movement so when you are flying at an angle (ie flying higher, lower, or turning) it reports the speed as slower.

Steve I agree. "Most" flight paths are no where near 280% speed. I've tried to fly along side alliance when I'm chasing them down to their next flight path drop off point, while on my Warlock and cannot keep up with them.
I was on my DK once (300% flight speed) and tried to follow an alliance that left from the flight path at Wyrmrest Temple, and no way in hell could I keep up. That's probably one of the fastest flight paths I've seen. |
