1mbit?!? Really, now..

You could suck in more than 1mbit over some open linksys router within 300 feet of your home.. and Verizon thinks they can hock that for $20 a month? Who are the viable customer base for that? Oh yeah, just sold to Fairpoint and minority carriers at or near bankruptcy. If your going to sell DSL you might as well up it to 3-7.x mbit for entry level (ie, the MAX for your copper run).

Ha! Good Luck!

Suck in 1 Mbit over an open linksys? And what? Transmit my private data over some insecure and unencrypted WiFi connection, so that some wardriving bozo can use Kismet and Aircrack on it? No thanks. Also, if $20 = a real IP address + a CONSISTENT connection + respectable upload speed + low pings (yay for FastPath!) without the need for a shitty phone line, I'll be more than willing to cough up the dough. By the way, this isn't meant for heavy users (although I personally am on it and it more than sufficiently fulfills the requirements for hosting a small-scale FTP/SVN/SSH server).... it's meant for people looking to save money in a tight economy. Translation: it's not meant to be the PRIMARY connection for the types who browse BBR on a regular basis.

Good point, but you still don't get a real IP address...... and you definitely can't run a server.
