| reply to avw1280 Are you asking about "make firefox the default browser"?
Why not simply have that box default to being unchecked, instead of checked? And perhaps move that box to the final summary screen.
I know this one trapped me. Though I normally use firefox for browsing, I had no need to make it the default browser, and it came as a surprise when it turned out to be the default browser. This seemed to be a change from firefox 2.x
Here is why I think you have a problem:
You have a screen where you can choose a default install or a custom install. So I alway select custom install. And I fully expect that, after selecting custom install, I will be able to customize all of the settings, including whether to make firefox the default browser. But by then it is too late. That setting has already been made before going for a custom install.
Move the "default browser" question to some time after the user has selected a custom install -- AT&T dsl; Speedstream 5100b modem; Zyxel NBG334W router; openSuSE 11.0; firefox 3.0.12 |
