[cable] Terayon Cable Modem Comparisons

Hello all,

I currently am using a Terayon TeraPro TCM100 cable modem that I have been using since 1998 or so. Recently my cable provider sent me an email saying to bring in the modem for a free upgrade to the most recent modem they provide (one of the new TeraJet 7 series I believe).

I am wondering what beneficial features and advantages (to me, not the cable company) there are to go to this new modem? I also have a TCM110 modem that was given to me a long time ago that I have never used. Can someone provide me with some comparison details on the TCM100 (old black rectangle box), TCM110 (flat and square), and the new TJ7 series?

The old TCM100 provides me with 4.5mbps download and 450kbps upload (although it hits 650), when I run it on shaw speed tests. I have regular shaw cable speed account.

Also, is there any "technology" in current Terayon cable modems that limits bandwidth or speed, or are those factors controlled by the provider only, and not the modem?
