DNS redirect by Comcast

As has been said before.
Hackers go to jail when caught redirecting your web page queries.
So why isn't the ISP going to jail for hacking?
Hey Comcast Executives, it's only a white collar crime and you get to go to this nice country club jail with minimum fencing for a few months. Free medical and 3 meals a day.

Anything like this must be opt in... Or at least declared Illegal. Since the ISP is controlling your Internet connection with re-directs to AD's disguised as a search engine page.
Otherwise, how do you really know you are at the normal web page you wanted? Other than confirming via a IP address.

I would go take a look at »networkmanagement.comcast.net/Do···ogic.htm which explains how the service works before making these types of statements.

We also offer a very easy to use opt-out located here:

As a provisioned customer you can get this by calling into 1-800-Comcast. You can then either have them opt you out or you can get the MAC and do it yourself.

Very soon we will offer a one click solution in customer central where you can opt-out without needing any of the information except your comcast.net login to access your preferences.

You sir are deillusional. Comcast has a taint to it. It is a company known for doing shady things. You had to be sued by the state of FL before you would say what the actual cap was on a consumer bandwith . ( though I find it to be more then fair now there is an actual number associated with the cap )

It is nice that comcast has a opt out for there dns redirection but you know as well as most other in the IT field that the average customers wont know that:

A. they can opt-out
B. Even know what DNS redirection is so they can make a choice if they want it or not.

Face it you work for a company that is not well liked or supported so blanant money grabs does not make Comcast look any better in the consumers eye.
