Getting more than what you paid for

Hey guys, after what i read in this forums, sympatico has more issues than results. However I would like to share this experience to you guys that there might be hope for sympatico after all. I was hoping that i could sign up for their performance service but found out that the only speed I am eligible for is ess+ after signing for ess plus, it took them an extra 3 days of the expected active date to run my dsl. However the weirdest thing happened and see that my speed is clocked at atleast 5.2 and hitting 6mbps. I was aware that essential comes only with 2mbps and 2 gig bandwidth, so I enrolled in a 5$ for he extra 40 gig bandwidth. Hope this speed is consistent and I think its worth the wait. Oh one more thing, good thing also happened to me when I called their tech support line, friendly knowledgeable people and guess what, not outsourced!!! So yah, it sounds like im bragging but somehow I really beg to differ about their service.

grin bare it

@videotron.ca
Seems you are new to Bell and just moved over from Rogers.

Congrats.... Hope it all works out for you.

Funny thing is, you could be paying less with a wholesaler for the same speed, with either a very large cap or no cap at all depending on the provider...

Great to hear everything went ok.

On the other hand I had a customer (small home based business) today that moved and only wanted dial-up (I know, I know) to check customer emails occasionally.

Seven, count it, seven calls all to India. The reps. only were interested in signing them up for high speed and went on and on. The customer gave up and still has no connection.

Oh they're still outsourced...some are in the US. They just tell you they work for Bell...not "XXYY Outsourcing".

If they still offer it i'm sure you can eventually get to a rep who will do it, if they still pull the "why not high speed card" just tell them you talked to a tech at the test center who said it was not available.

But in either case I'd recommend anyone but Bell, there are much cheaper dialup providers.

You will soon retract this statement when you start getting your true speeds and then you will see that what we all have been saying about Hell was true.

I told them to use the #2 option and hope someone will eventually talk to them. Better odds than India.

Test board (test center) won't talk to me unless I am doing contract work for them and use my employee ID #, which I doubt they check anyway.
How would a customer get through?

They want to keep their email address that all their customers have. The shame is they make sports related items to help the disabled community.

I'm surprised the testboard number has not been posted. There are many customer who do know it.

I have it somewhere in the truck with the other thousand Bell #s I call when I work for them.
So if I call up for a quick test, lets say, you wouldn't tell me or a customer to f off. Politely of course.

Actually if he has a bundled service, he would be getting it for less than most wholesalers.

Obviously he isn't getting as much of a usage cap but if that isn't a concern for the OP then he is laughing

You probably got through to a dept called Get Connected.

It's for the first time you call...it's not outsourced.

They don't want your first call to be to India.

Edit:...by not outsourced....I meant not outsourced outside the country...it's still a 3rd party call center, in Canada, not India.
