| Why does Voicestick work on softphone but not IP phone?
I can send and receive calls fine using my Voicestick SIP credentials with the PhonerLite softphone. But when I enter those same credentials into my Dlink DPH-541 WiFi phone, my outbound calls get an immediate busy signal, and my inbound go straight to voicemail. Can someone explain why those SIP devices would give different results using the same credentials? My Voicestick SIP profile follows:
SIP Account Name: VoiceStick Phone Number: 1773xxxxxxx Authentication ID: 1773xxxxxxx Authentication Password: mypassword SIP Domain: i2telecom.com Proxy Address: 72.5.80.155 Outbound Address: leave blank Local Port: 5060 Register Timer(sec): 3600 Codec: Auto Pkt Time(ms): Default OutofBand DTMF: On |

| reply to mel2000 After some research I found that by setting 72.5.80.116 as the Outbound Proxy Address I could receive inbound calls and make outbound calls just like the softphone. However, I still don't understand how the softphone was able to work properly without the Outbound Proxy Address. In fact, there isn't even a field to set that value in PhonerLite. Anyway I consider this problem solved. |
