| [ Classes] Warlock Thread
So for all us Locks in here. We where the most viewed and most posted thread in 3.1 and I want us to have a place to post in 3.2 and beyond.
So due to lag I barely got a chance to play last night but was wondering if any of you that did play notice the difference with the few changes we received?
Oh I also noticed that my Intensity staff from Ulduar now has a bright glow around it and my ring enchants are 23 instead of 19 =) |

Experienced the same thing, was farming that instance for the trinkets (out of 7 tries only saw the tanking trinket). |

| reply to NYlock78 So you guys got to see the new drops in the dungeon? What is worth going into the 5man's for as my lock? I for instance will collect the Conquest Badges for the 2 T8 peices for the set bonus, but in all honesty there not that big of an upgrade then what I have on my Lock since I am wearing Collar of the Wyrmhunter and Raiments of the Iron Council. |

@terago.net | reply to NYlock78 my dps went up about 200-300. although this was only on the dummy. i made a good effort of practice 10 minutes before server shutdown and then again straight after it came back without moving. this was as a 3/13/55 spec tho |

| reply to NYlock78 Although there is a nerf to our fire spells, the buffed Imp does balance it out very well. Aggro is no worst now than it has ever been. As a matter of fact, the reduced timer on Soul Shatter should cure most -- if not all -- of your problems. I always open with:
Immoate -> Conflag -> Chaos Bolt -> Incin -> Incin
With that combo (being very well geared) it isn't unheard of for me to do ~30k dam in just a few seconds. If I'm within 2k threat from tank I Shatter...
For those who haven't had time to check out gems, here are my recommendations for matching sockets:
RED: Runed Cardinal Ruby, +23 Spellpower, ~31 DPS. BLUE: Purified Dreadstone, +12 SP / +10 Spirit, ~23 DPS. YELLOW: Reckless Ametrine, +12 SP / +10 Haste, ~25 DPS.
NOTE: The DPS rating above is simple napkin math, and may be slightly off.
In 4-pc T8.5 (minus shoulders) and Sash of Ancient Power I had no issues keeping the Chaotic Skyflare meta. |

1 edit | You have your rotation just a tad backwards. I'm not saying it doesn't work. But to absolutely maximize a Deep Destro build, rotations should go exactly like this:
Curse of Doom -> Immolate -> Chaos Bolt -> Conflag -> Incinerate X's 5-6 ->
At this point Immolate should just about be at the last tick, this is where you'll refresh Immolate again, and start all over. Watch for the very last tick of CoD to recast this spell again.
The reason for casting Immolate and then Chaos Bolt is because you cannot cast Conflag immediately after an Immolate. So casting a Chaos Bolt here, will maxmize your GCD time.
Throw in a Corruption here and there for when you're forced to move. |

| reply to NYlock78 i agree with the immo-conflag-CB-inc x4-conflag rotation. you can get more conflags in and it seems to make for more dps. it is alot harder to keep track of cos the rotation changes due to the cooldowns but if you are on top of it then you will do get more conflags in, which means more crits and backdraft procs |

Im pretty quick at picking up stragglers, so it wasnt an issue... but it was one of those things that I kinda looked at and went "huh.. weird" |

| reply to NYlock78 Regarding the destro spec rotation you mentioned,
It is best to lifetap, corruption or curse of doom in the immolate lag, as if Conflag Crits not only do you get the 30% haste bonus from backdraft but you get the 6% damage bonus from pyroclasm.
That is why you conflag first and then chaos bolt.
I do have one question, though:
With the extension of lifetap glyph to 40 seconds, is it now better to glyph for lifetap if you have improved soul leech or is it better to still glyph for incinerate? |

Excellent question, anybody know the answer? Is the Immolate glyph better to have than the incinerate as I'd be more inclined to drop the immolate glyph before I'd drop the incinerate one. |

NYlock78 Premium join:2009-04-01 Paterson, NJ | Damn and thats another exellent question wich one do we drop if we do? Not worrying about life tap for 40 sec and still getting mana back from Imp Soul leach is too good to pass up |
