Or you could get a Roku box for $100. I happened to win one in an online contest and it looks quite nice. Right now it only does Amazon VOD and Netflix, but they've promised more content. (There are even rumors of Hulu coming to the Roku box, but I wouldn't hold my breath.)

I thought about that but being a hard-core utilitarian, I didn't want to spend $100 on a one trick pony. I'll either wait till the cost to build a HDMI ION box hits around $300 or wait till they add the functionality to the PS3. I like the PS3 option best because it costs the least for me

There was a thread sort of on this topic over at AVSForum earlier this week. It seemed that the Ion wasn't that much lower powered then one of the 45W AMD CPUs, but didn't have as much horsepower for anything beyond the most basic 1080P content.
