Re: Dear TWC Marketing Dept. Very very good and funny post I thought. Here where I live, TWC's fastest turbo tier is suppose to be 15Mbit/2Mbit. Yet on the upstream side of things, the best upload I could get was 1.3Mbit, instead of 1.8-1.9 that I should've gotten. My signal levels were good, I verified multiple times that my modem was configured for 15/2, yet it seemed as though I was only getting about 1.5Mbps of upload.
I took my modem to a friend's house who feeds off of a different head end, and wouldn't you know it, I was able to achieve the full 2mbps of upstream speed at his place, meaning the modem was plenty capable of achieving those speeds. Yet back at my place, with the exact same equipment and configuration, I never have been able to break the 1.5Mbps barrier, even at 3 aM! So yeah those tiers would be very appropriate for TWC I think. |
