Ferrari

"BMW," while referring to DSL technology as a "Hyundai" -- and insisting BMW doesn't lower prices to suit "inferior" competition. It's not clear which metaphor represents FTTH in that equation.

FTTH is the ferrari

If cable is the BMW of broadband, then I'd liken FTTH to the Lexus of broadband. They're similar in offerings (even if not in capability), but one is much more reliable than the other.

ya but FTTH has more speed available (offered and that can be offered)

Lexus is just a high end toyota

I was focusing only on the reliablity gap, which is large IMO. I don't think you can use Ferrari or other supercar manufacturers to get that point across. I'm aware of FIOS capabilities being greater, but to date, Verizon sits on a large portion of that capability, selling relatively meager speeds (for fiber) at higher prices than cable as if it might strain their extremely large pipe.

the way I see it is FiOS is currently like a Ferrari stuck in a school zone

for reliability just go with an old toyota truck (if you watch Top Gear you'll know what I mean)
