The anticheat should be at the server end, not at the client end. Thats just my thought on the matter though. That is how WoW and other mmorpgs do it.

I agree JukeBox, I have seen Lineage 2. I just don't know if this game is for me. I hate to invest $50 into a game I won't play very much. Especially with Champions Online getting some of my time here in the next week or so.

So far the reviews are excellent from fanboys. Poor from people who hate the game. So which is it? I could assume somewhere in between.

This is incorrect, WoW uses both server and client-side cheat detection.

There is still debate over Warden, the process that runs on your PC when your run WoW which monitors the active processes you have running to make sure you aren't cheating. Many still consider it spyware, but you agree to let it run on your machine when you agree to WoW's ToS.
