The New Modem/Router Combination for Fusion?

Hey, just moved into my apartment in Berkeley, CA and started looking into the Internet service providers. Upon some research, I really do like Sonic.net and the customer service is great (thanks Matt and Courtney). I do have one question, however, which has been delaying my commitment to Sonic.net:

When is the new modem/router for fusion coming in? At under $100, that's a bargain, but it seems like it can coming as soon as 1 week to a month or 2. I would like to have my own internet by the time school starts (August 25). So any clearer updates on that? Thanks

The modem/router combo is a Motorola 2247 and they are currently in deployment. So feel free to sign up right away so we can try to get you installed by your commitment date. Hope that helps and we look forward to adding you to our network soon!

I'm waiting for Courtney in the Sales department to give me a call about when the new modem/router combo comes in. Thanks for the update and I'm looking forward to being with Sonic as well.

Actually, I do have some questions: How long will it take from the time I make the call to sign up with Sonic to getting the internet service? Do i get charged for the modem/router combo with the monthly bill or is it an immediate charge?

Thanks.

Not quite yet. There is one obstacle remaining that I am aware of, which should be cleared "real soon," but I don't have a firm ETA for you.
