I reported a Phishing email message. As is commonplace with Verizon DSL tech support, my report was met with irrelevant responses. Here is a portion the chat session:
Alex: I would like to speak with one of your security techs.
Ahmad: I would like to inform you that those mails are spam as Verizon will never ask any personal information about you account, so kindly do not respond such mails and delete them immeditly
Alex: I realize they are spam and stated so at the outset. The point is, someone is trying to hack your user accounts and security personnel need to act or some of your clients will respond to this crude hack.
Ahmad: I really apologize for the inconvenience cause to you, however if you think that your password for your mail is hacking then I would request to kindly change your password.
Alex: You clearly do not understand. Please provide me the number for your security technician.
Ahmad: Okay, In this case i would request you to contact our Voice Technical Support Department at 800-567-6789 voice prompt "DSL Technical Support". 24x7
I called with similar results. After establishing that they were aware of the SPAM I was told (a) they were tracking the email; (b) were not warning clients; and (c) I should not respond to the email. |
