Re: Is Aion worth it? Granted he has a decent track record in various types of games but not in MMO's, at least not in current market being anything in the last 8 years. He was not involved in WOW. |

He apparently contacted some of his contacts at Crypic trying to get into the CO closed beta a year or so ago. When they found out who he was (this was shortly after Hellgate had imploded) they hired him on the spot to come in and help guide development.
I always thought that was certainly an interesting decision for Cryptic to make. -- My PC Gaming Blog »thegaffadin.blogspot.com |

He was not involved in WOW. I think the same could be said about any video game maker. Every one of them have had hits and misses, even game creators like Sid Meyer who created Civilization had his share of failure when he created Alpha Centauri. People said the same thing at the time, that he was an accomplished game maker, but not a sci-fi game maker.
Meh. People shoot and miss the mark all the time. From what I have seen from Cryptic and Bill Roper so far in the Champions Online Closed Beta, its a great game. Course, its not all Roper thats for sure. -- My domain - Nightfall.net |
