no, I was just wondering if there was newer firmware..something that might bond 4 downstream channels or 2 upstream...

Nobody seems to have upstream bonding yet. I don't know if it's even out of the lab.

Downstream depends on your area. Some only have 3 channels available, others 4.

I don't think firmware would make any difference as to how many channels are bonded. When the upstream bonding specs are finalized, there MIGHT be updates to fix issues.

Re: [Connectivity] Cisco Docsis 3 Modem Firmware

yeah, I havent read that anyone has upstream bonding either..
I wonder how they choose who gets 3 or 4 channel downstream bonding?
Is 4 better than 3?

With 3 downstream channels bonded in the Burr Ridge area, I get 59-62meg d/l's all the time on my 50-10 tier..would having 4 channels bonded make it even faster?

no, it probably wouldnt be faster, because powerboost is capped at the CMTS.

I'm guessing the 3 or 4 downstream depends on available channel space in your area. Comcast has to balance whats needed for Internet and how heavily they think it will be used, versus how many TV channels to make available. Each channel can hold 2-3 HD, 10-14 SD, or some combo thereof.
