Hi all,
My zywall 5 is having problem automatically renew the WAN IP with Cablevision OptimumOnline (OOL). Maybe some of the Zyxel experts can help me with the problem.
I have searched the zyxel and the OOL forum for similar problem. After reading some of the other posts, I believe that the problem is related to how OOL is not handling or having problems with the Zywall's DHCP packets. I am currently running firmware V4.04(XD.4).
I would like to either (1) find a solution for the problem or (2) replace the Zywall 5 with a different one without the DHCP renewal problem with OOL.
I have made a similar post in the OOL forum asking for recommendations (»[OOL] Broadband wired and wireless router recommendation?). However, if there is a Zyxel model that doesn't have the problem, I would rather stick with a Zyxel. My budget is a router up to $500.

I just saw the post with the 4.04(XD5) firmware. Although I didn't see anything pertaining to DHCP mentioned in 404XD5CO.pdf, I will apply it and see if it will make a difference. (/new edit)

I have the SA2203C modem supplied by Cablevision. I have the Cablevision triple play. I have the OOL boost package.

For what it's worth, I am also running a Z5 on OOL with the V4.04(XD.4) firmware connected to a WebSTAR DPX2203 modem and I am not having any DHCP renewal issues. |

Thank you for the information. Now I am really puzzled as to why the WAN IP renewal issue is happening to me. I guess maybe the z5 is not playing nice with my modem. I have a SA DPC2203c modem. |
