| Power Notebooks for custom laptops
Anyone ever bought from these folks I'm considering buying this one: »www.powernotebooks.com/configure···cial=640. Since I've never heard of this company before I thought I'd ask if any one has any experience with them or with the Sager brand of laptop.
Also any comments on the PC configuration I've chosen? The computer will be used for engineering simulations. These are CPU intensive and the more memory the better. Also the programs will not run under vista or 64 bit OS. |

@Level3.net | They have quite a few reviews at resellerratings

I would get the t6500 cpu at minimum or, better yet, the 8700. |

| I agree with that. Also, I would recommend 4gb ram, even though with a 32 bit OS, the last 1gb will not be all accessed..still, ram is cheap enough, and for memory intensive usage, might as well max it out. -- Deeds, not words |

| reply to stev32k the reviews look good for them. As for the cpu I'd go with one of the 25w TDP 6Mb cache Penryn series C2D cpus »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_In···45_nm.29
The extra cache and lower TDP should get you better results then a faster cpu with less cache as well as give you a cooler running laptop with a little bit better battery life. |
