 | Call Of Juarez 2 Is Beautiful Seriously. One of the most visually beautiful games I've ever seen, and I'm not even done with the game. The only contenders being Crysis, Far Cry 2, and the original Call of Juarez. And the best part...it runs as smooth as butter. I run a quad core with an 8800gt (and 22 inch monitor), and with the graphics cranked all the way up there's absolutly no lag. The engine is silky smooth. That's good coding.
And it's not just the incredible graphics. It's the level of detail. The spiders crawling on the tree trunks. The way the roots of trees enter the ground. The shadowing. The lighting. The way the trees and grass move in the wind.
Trees and rocks have always been a kind of Holy Grail for game developers. It's very hard to create realistic looking trees and rocks. But the guys that made COJ2 have gotten about as close as any game I've seen so far.
I was just playing in a level out in the open desert, and I really felt like I was in a desert. Very realistic. And the backgrounds don't look fuzzy and "painted". They really look obtainable. Like you could just take a walk to the distant mountains.
And it's not just pretty. Like the original COJ, it's got an engaging storyline and fun gameplay.
Anyways, I just keep stopping mid-mission to look at a tree, or a rock, or a horse and I figured I'd see if anyone else knows where I'm coming from. |

 | reply to Ratman_84 No, you're asking "too" much.
I posted so that if anyone else was playing it, I could chat with them, and so that people who weren't lazy and interested could look it up.
My friend just verbally told me about Darksiders and Dante's Inferno. He didn't link me. He told me with his mouth. Then I Googled them. It was about as taxing as picking my nose.
Now I'm not linking out of principal.
Don't Google it. Don't play an awesome game. Your Pentium 2 rig probably couldn't handle it anyway. |

| This game of life on line is pretty colorful sometimes.
I wouldn't sweat it though. But for me, it would have been good to have a link for those that just don't go around clicking on arbitrary results from google. Some may see it as letting someone else test the water. pff who knows. It's late and that was the best guess after a 6 pack.
Any who.. Tell us about the game. -- If you are having half as much fun as I am, then I must be having twice the fun than you are. Do The Math! |

You brought up a game talking about how beautiful it is and went on and on about rocks and trees yet you couldnt provide us with some screenshots or even a link to screenshots?
I am going to be courteous and link you to a thread talking about a game with links and even screenshots. Its not too tough..

Re: Call Of Juarez 2 Is Beautiful Seriously, if you're going to post how beautiful some new game is then please upload some screen-shots. Telling others to "google it!" seems a bit asinine. |

 | reply to Anon You know your the only one thats complaining.Ask the few people that responded to you post if they would have liked to have had a link to save them some time. Your making a big thing out of nothing.Did you tell Subaru to go to hell and google for screen shots? Did you tell Ryan who had no clue what you were referring to to take a hike? What is your problem? You get up on the wrong side of the bed? I'm lazy and you know this for a fact just because I did the forbidden thing and asked for a link. You sir are lazier then me for not going thru the trouble to give me a link as a common courtesy to me and others in this post. |
